Hollyoaks Cast Sing For England

Cast members from Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks are to release a charity single in support of England at the 2010 World Cup.

The soap's celebrity football team, whose members include veteran cast member Nick Pickard, aka Tony Hutchinson, will release Sing For England on May 23 with all profits being donated to the Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

Nick said: "All the lads in the team are passionate about football and we love playing regularly to raise money for charity, so it only seems natural to show our support for the England football team in South Africa by releasing Sing For England."

Alder Hey treats over 200,000 children and young people each year and the Hollyoaks celebrity football has already raised £50,000 for the hospital by taking part in charity matches.

Bafta - Human Error

Bafta said today "human error" was responsible for a mistake that saw "a number" of eligible shows left off a list circulated to members voting for its 2010 TV awards.

It said it had acted to inform the 7 per cent of members who had already voted of the omissions and would give them a chance to submit their vote again.

The Independent reported Alan Carr's Chatty Man and Chris Moyles' Quiz Night were among the missing shows.

A Bafta spokesperson would not confirm which programmes were affected.

The first round of online voting, which decides the nominations for this year's awards, opened on Tuesday. Bafta said in a statement: "The lists were immediately investigated, a human error discovered and amendments made online that afternoon.

"Bafta is satisfied that the entries originally omitted have been presented fairly to every voter in this first round."

The Bafta Television Awards will be held at the London Palladium on June 6.
