Hairy Bikers Final Show

Hairy BikersHairy Bikers

Viewers will watch Dave Myers' last onscreen appearance this evening as the final episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West airs on the BBC.

The TV chef, 66, died last month, two years after he revealed he was undergoing treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.

BBC Two has been airing Myers' last Hairy Bikers series, where he and his best friend Si King embark on a tour of their beloved spots across the UK.

In the finale, the pair will explore Devon and Dorset before culminating their journey with an emotional moment.

With a look of triumph, Myers addresses the camera: “It's been tough at times.

“I've had chemotherapy all the time we've been filming, it hasn't been easy, but we've got there and it's a wonderful feeling.”

While King says: “We've done it, but more importantly he's done it,” before getting overcome with emotion.

He shared: “He's my mate but I love him like family, like a brother, and I'm lost for words. It's quite remarkable what he's done.”

A smiling Myers adds: “Who knows what the future holds but for the moment I'm living in the present, and it's pretty fine.”

After the credits roll, a tribute reads: “In loving memory of our friend, Dave Myers.”

The television personality recorded his final show last year, which had just begun airing when King announced his friend's passing. The BBC decided to continue to air the series in tribute.

The episode is shown on BBC Two at 19:00.
