Gino D’Acampo is facing allegations of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour.

Dozens of people have come forward to speak about their experience working with him over a period of 12 years.

The investigation by ITV News found that at least one production company that worked with the celebrity chef were aware of concerns that were raised but continued to work with him.

His behaviour has been described by some people as ‘unacceptable,’ ‘distressing’ and ‘horrendous’.

The Italian chef, 48, is best known for appearing on shows including This Morning, Let’s Do Lunch and Gino’s Italian Escape.

Since 2018 he’s also fronted Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip alongside Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, which follows the trio visiting various countries and cities and exploring local culture and cuisine.

It was reported in December that he was ‘slowly being sidelined’ by ITV after allegedly facing a string of inappropriate behaviour claims made against him.

D’Acampo is the host of gameshow Family Fortunes, but it is said a series filmed in 2023 is not scheduled for broadcast.

ITV said in a statement: “All of the concerns and complaints raised by those who have spoken to ITN describe behaviour which is inappropriate and unacceptable. Most of them were not reported to ITV at the time. Where issues have been raised with ITV action has been taken."

The women who spoke with ITV News are fearful of the consequences of speaking out so their identities have been concealed. Included in the claims is one woman, given the pseudonym of Hannah, who has claimed that while on a magazine shoot in 2011, D’Acampo said he’d “like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter.”

“I definitely saw it as some kind of power play. The very act of what he said was aggressive,” she added. She described feeling ‘shock’ and ‘horror’ but was unsurprised that nobody else called out the comment.”

Responding specifically to this claim, D’Acampo’s legal team said: “This allegation from almost 15 years ago has never, until now via a media request for comment, been raised or put to Mr D’Acampo.

“He does not recall it, nor accept that this happened. Mr D’Acampo is horrified to be accused of “power play” and an “aggressive act”. He emphatically and unequivocally denies these allegations.”
