Vicki Young
Vicki Young has been announced as the new presenter of the BBC’s Politics Live.
Vicki is well known to audiences as the BBC’s Deputy Political Editor, a role she has held since 2020, and brings her impressive experience presenting and covering UK politics to the weekday politics show.
Vicki has covered eight General Elections, numerous international summits, and has been a presenter on the BBC News Channel and Westminster Hour on Radio 4. During her career she has reported on some of the most complex stories in recent times from Brexit to the coronavirus pandemic – keeping audiences informed and up to date.
She has worked for the BBC for more than 25 years, starting as a reporter at BBC Wales before joining the parliamentary team at Westminster.
She will start her role presenting Politics Live permanently in June.
Vicki Young says: “I’m delighted to join Politics Live as its next presenter at a time when political events, here and abroad, are of huge interest to our audiences. I’ll be discussing all the key issues with our panellists and politicians, giving them their say of course, but holding them to account too as I know Politics Live viewers expect.
“I want to give a special mention to my friend and talented colleague Jo Coburn. It’s a privilege to follow in her footsteps.”
